National Breastfeeding Month is just around the corner, and with that comes celebrations events throughout our community. As a member of the Breastfeeding Coalition of Cumberland County, I will be helping the coalition to put on the annual World Breastfeeding Week celebration sponsored by the coalition on August 5th.
This year, our community fair will feature a myriad of breastfeeding supportive nonprofit and for profit organizations from across the area. Each organization will have a theme and will be providing education and information on that theme during the event. It is a super fun event that is family friendly. From giveaway bags to door prizes and information from all of the breastfeeding supportive groups throughout our county, this event is a great way to kick off National Breastfeeding Month and show your support for the community while learning about a wide variety of topics related to breastfeeding!
This event will be held at the Cape Fear Valley Health Rehabilitation Center, Room A, in Fayetteville located at 1638 Owen Drive. The event begins at 9:30am and ends at noon. If you are planning to participate in The Big Latch On, please arrive no later than 10:00am so that you can register and receive your instructions for the event. It will begin precisely at 10:30am sharp.
As I mentioned in my previous blog about this summer's community events, I will have a table at this celebration and will be giving away a free gift to all my readers and clients! Be sure to RSVP to my fun summer events and you will be able to receive your free gift when you stop by my table. You will be able to choose between a couple different items!
If you would like to volunteer with the Breastfeeding Coalition of Cumberland County, you can email me at email@example.com and I will get you connected to our group and let you know when the next meeting is happening.
As always, we thank you all for your support of the community and your commitment to breastfeeding families in Cumberland County.
See you August 5th!
This summer is going to be very busy--it already is! I'm sure you have all stayed quite busy between school letting out for the summer, the holiday weekend, and maybe even some summer travel plans and trips.
In anticipation of that, I have compiled a list of all the classes and events I have going on for the next few weeks so that you can plan ahead!
On July 16 I am teaching a Comfort Measures for Childbirth class at Village Coffee in Spring Lake. This class is offered through The Fayetteville Doulas, so be sure to head over their website to book as soon as possible so that you can reserve your spot! This class is a wonderful option for parents at any stage of pregnancy. It is great for both second-time and subsequent families and first time families as well!
We cover many different techniques and methods for achieving comfort and for coping well throughout labor and birth. We utilize different teaching tools and we get very much hands on so that you leave this class feeling like you have a comprehensive grasp on what comfort techniques you can use during labor and birth.
On July 18 I am teaching a Breastfeeding Basics class. Designed to be a comprehensive introduction to breastfeeding, this class will prepare you and your partner to plan for a great start at breastfeeding. We will discuss what to expect in the first days and weeks, what's normal, and when to get help. Head over to The Fayetteville Doulas' website to book your spot in this informative class!
On August 5th I will be set up at the Breastfeeding Coalition of Cumberland County's annual Big Latch On event. This event is a big part of the World Breastfeeding Week celebrations in our county and I look forward to it every year! This year I will be set up as a vendor and would love to see all of you there! We will be providing information on lots of topics surrounding the perinatal period and I am so excited to meet and support many of the breastfeeding families in our community. Check back for details on this fun and family-friendly event.
On August 19th I will be a vendor at La Leche League of Fayetteville, NC's Live, Love, Latch event. This event will be a fun celebration with speakers, prizes, giveaways, a silent auction, and more! Be sure to mark your calendars and RSVP to the event!
Finally, on September 16 in Southern Pines I will be a vendor at the Itsy Bitsy Babypalooza! This fun and intimate event requires that tickets be purchased in advance, so be sure you buy yours before it's too late.
Since I have so many classes and events going on this summer, I wanted to give a small token of my appreciation to everyone who comes out to support our local community vendors and business owners. RSVP to any or all of the events and classes coming up this summer and then mention to me that you did so when I see you at the event and you will receive a small gift from me as a token of my appreciation for your community support! Simply fill out the RSVP form below and then I'll see you at this summer's fun events!
Stay cool out there, and as always: email or call if you have any questions! firstname.lastname@example.org or 804-605-9520.
